This article presents an evaluation of a group counseling program for residents of a community release corrections facility. Results indicate that short-term counseling contributes to significant changes in participant adjustment. This adjustment was characterized by both a reduction in distressful symptoms and an improved perception of the correlations environment. Significant factors within the counseling program process are discussed in relationship to treatment effects.
